The Romantic Mix

The Romantic Mix claims to play “Songs You Fell In Love Too.” Let’s see for ourselves shall we?

First track I heard was Robert John’s Sad Eyes. Second song is by the lovely Vanessa Williams and Brian McKnight with Love Is. I’m getting the feeling that this station is going to be incredibly depressing. Why do we all love a good sad love song? I definitely don’t need any more free music downloads of these sad songs in my library… so I suppose this station can come in handy, if the playlist is good. However…

The other tracks I hear during my brief stay on this dentist-office-esque radio station are Dr. Hook’s Better Love Next Time, Chris Brown’s Forever, and Melissa Manchester Looking Through the Eyes of Love. Honestly, I have to change the channel hear because there are a million awesome love anthems that have been aired over the last half century, and this station hasn’t played any of them. Maybe a good station for some peoples’ tastes, but not mine.

Here is a video of Chris Brown with the song Forever:

M2 Love Radio Station Banner

M2 Love Radio is direct from the city of love Paris and contains a steady stream of love songs from many decades. I thought that there would be more of an international flavor to the play list but most of the songs that feature are from mainstream western charts. Besides Mariah Carey and Chris Brown I felt there was still a great level of class with songs from artists of a high caliber serenading the listener such as Stevie Wonder, Jimmy Cliff and Dido.

The DJ s are authentically French and I personally would have loved greater input from local artists to add some intrigue. This type of radio station is not unique but I am sure hugely popular and they supply the audience exactly what is advertised, which you can readily access on their website along with names of tracks to enhance your free music download collection.

The audience can vote on the stations website and I quickly gave a nay for the Pussycat Dolls as my community service for the time I listened. There is also a charts determined by a voting system which is great for popular radio and assists the station with satisfying their market.

Overall M2 Love is a solid and safe love music radio station that rarely reached moments of spontaneity but also finds itself removed from playing over produced soulless love music that plagues many a station of the same genre. If you are in the mood for love you are sure to be content with M2 Love.
